A Long History
My father started out in the restaurant industry with the Silver Spur in the small village of Hague, north of Saskatoon. After a few years of working with family, in 1972 he decided to branch out on his own with his wife to the town of Radisson. They took over a small shack on the side of the road, and although they struggled, managed to start the famous Red Bull Restaurant and Truck Stop.
Having grown up in the industry, I owned a couple of restaurants over the years, notably the Riviera (The Riv) on circle drive in Saskatoon. Then in 2001, had the opportunity to take over the family restaurant, The Red Bull, from my father who was semi-retiring. Having owned the Red Bull for 10 years, I decided to sell in 2012 and move back to Saskatoon. After a decade of feeling unsatisfied working the 9 to 5 scene, the desire to get back to my roots was overwhelming. In mid 2022, I decided enough was enough, I was going to build my dream restaurant and do what I love most.
It’s the best feeling in the world when you go to work, and it doesn’t feel like a job!
